The Dollhouse

Here are some pictures of the dollhouse Scott and I built over the past few months. It was a fun project. I painted and decorated each room and purchased the furniture and dolls on ebay. I wanted this house to have images of strong women and I didn't buy the traditional family to go in it. This dollhouse is going to the local women and children's shelter and I did not want to take a toy that represented a socially "normal" family since the children there come from broken homes. I know this is not the most beautiful dollhouse ever, but I hope some little girl will get joy out of playing with it.

Dear Santa

Welcome to our home, number 1408.

We've put our lights up, not a moment too late.

Just inside the door you will see we are big fans.

And our nativity scene which has been rearranged several times by small hands.

I couldn't put the angel on our tree, not even with a chair.

But our stockings are at least hung by the chimney with care.

Santa, this year I have all I could ever ask for, but there is one wish to tell.

I wish for all of my family and friends to be safe, happy and well.
