30 and Loving It!

I recently turned 30, on Labor Day. I was dreading it thinking I would feel and look old. I know it is ridiculous, but that was the way I felt. But now that my birthday has passed and I didn't turn into a wrinkly old lady over night I'm feeling pretty good about it. In fact I feel better now than I have in a very long time. The cortisone injections in my back provided a great deal of relief and I'm getting to exercise more frequently. I think being 30 suits me just fine.

I did have a great party and got to get all dressed up. That was soooo much fun. I will admit that walking around in heels all night did make me sore the next day. I also had a big cut on my foot where my heels rubbed. Ouch! Are they worth it??? You bet!

Brace Yourself

Feast your eyes on my lovely new back brace. Don't be jealous girls, you too can have this state of the art brace with a built in support cushion in the back. Just continuously visit your orthopaedic doctor and he will eventually give you one!

Note how it adjusts to flatter even the fullest figure. It even comes with a pump for the rear cushion so you can pump it to your desired fullness. No....you cannot insert the cushion into your bra!

This stylish accessory will go with almost any outfit and gives you that hour glass figure that all women dream of having.

Don't stare too long or you might look like this!

Happee Fourth of July

On Friday Joshua and I went to the Dell Diamond to enjoy the baseball game and to watch the fireworks. We ended up sitting on the grass since it was so packed but we had fun. The first half of the game we were in the sun, sweating our butts off, and we both drank a lot of soda to stay hydrated. We even got souvenir cups. We also shared cotton candy!
A foul ball came close by us and the outfielder threw it up into the crowd. To my surprise I looked and saw Joshua in the middle of a dog pile fighting for the ball! He got it too!!
The fireworks came after the game and they were great! Of course by the end it was a fight to get out of the parking lot. So just as I became wedged between two vehicles in line to exit, Joshua tells me, "I have to pee NOW!" I'm thinking, "Oh Great!". Then I realized we had the souvenir cups. I said to Joshua, "Okay this is gross, but you are going to have to pee in this cup. Just make sure you point your pee pee into the cup!"
He was so desperate to go he didn't even question my solution. Unfortunately he was not exaggerating when he said he had to pee NOW and as soon as he pulled his shorts down a little, a stream of pee ran up my hand and arm that was holding the cup! I squealed and he shot me some more. Finally I wised up and calmed down and told him to POINT THAT THING DOWN INTO THE CUP!!!!
After everything was under control and several alcohol soaked wipes were used(thank God mom and dad taught me to keep those in my car) Joshua apologized for peeing on me. I looked back at him, by this time we had made it out of the stadium parking lot, and I saw an impish grin on his face. We both busted out laughing! It was too funny!
Later on as I was hugging him good night I said, "I love you more than anything in the whole world." and he said, "Even though I peed on you?!" We laughed again and I said, "Yes, even though you peed on me!"

Short and Sweet

  • I rode 15 miles on a stationary bike yesterday in one hour. This was on a program of peaks and valleys.
  • We saw Transformers last night, it was good, but there was some cheesy comedy.
  • Joshua is obsessed with Dollar General since his visit to La Veta, I'm thinking it's because Dollar General is the biggest store in La Veta.
  • We have bowls and bowls just running over with beautiful tomatoes from our garden and I'm eating them for a snack every chance I get!
  • I recently read Ethan Frome, how depressing!
  • We just bought a new grill!! I torched the last one and almost blew up the house. Not sure what happened but I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed to touch the new one.
  • My new favorite food is the Peppadew! Try some, they are usually with the fancy olives in the deli section of the store.

That's about it! :)

Bye Bye Virus

I fixed my computer, at least I think I did. I rebooted in safe mode (f8) and did a system restore. It was a solution I found online. It worked or at least it has so far.
This week I made Marinara and Pizza Sauce all from the tomatoes out of my garden! It has been awesome! Tomorrow I'm having some fresh okra!!
