Short and Sweet

  • I rode 15 miles on a stationary bike yesterday in one hour. This was on a program of peaks and valleys.
  • We saw Transformers last night, it was good, but there was some cheesy comedy.
  • Joshua is obsessed with Dollar General since his visit to La Veta, I'm thinking it's because Dollar General is the biggest store in La Veta.
  • We have bowls and bowls just running over with beautiful tomatoes from our garden and I'm eating them for a snack every chance I get!
  • I recently read Ethan Frome, how depressing!
  • We just bought a new grill!! I torched the last one and almost blew up the house. Not sure what happened but I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed to touch the new one.
  • My new favorite food is the Peppadew! Try some, they are usually with the fancy olives in the deli section of the store.

That's about it! :)

Bye Bye Virus

I fixed my computer, at least I think I did. I rebooted in safe mode (f8) and did a system restore. It was a solution I found online. It worked or at least it has so far.
This week I made Marinara and Pizza Sauce all from the tomatoes out of my garden! It has been awesome! Tomorrow I'm having some fresh okra!!

Long time no write...

My laptop is sick. I accidentally downloaded a virus called Personal Antivirus. It looks just like Norton Antivirus and it tricked me into downloading it. I feel like a fool, but apparently this is common. I'm working on getting my computer fixed but for now I cannot check my email at home.
Other than that everything has been going great. We have harvested and eaten many tomatoes from our garden, even the heirloom tomatoes which are delicious. I made a tomato and fresh mozzarella salad for myself the other day and nearly died it was so good!
Last night Scott made Swedish meatballs from scratch. They were amazing. He got the recipe from a Swedish woman, so they were authentic. They had nutmeg and allspice in them. It was really great.
I'm looking forward to getting Joshie back after his two week Colorado vacation at the Landon Lodge. I've really missed him, but the extra time with Scott was nice too. I also had the opportunity to go to the gym everyday, which has been great. Depending on my progress with physical therapy ( stress fracture in my spine) I'm going to try to do a mini triathlon in October. My therapist is not too excited about me running though, so we will have to see. Until then, I'm riding the bike and swimming a lot.
Well, I better get back to work.
